Its main competitors include Abode's Illustrator and (keeping the proportions) InDesign. Mostly used in the print industry, more by printers than designers, it is well known for its extensive support over other industry's relevant formats (Ilustrator, PDF, Photoshop, AutoCad, SWF, and a long etcetera), it's great precision and control, text-art flexibility, and for being both versatile and simple to non graphic industry professionals or to newbies. CorelDRAW is the flag program of Corel's graphic suite, a well done mixture of a vector based graphic editor, a composition environment, including some bitmap editing capabilities, even some animation, font creation, web, and some other really varied capabilities.
